Have you ever had a stretch where self-doubt crept in and got the better of you? I think most of us have. Well, I’ve just come through one of those periods myself.
Back in June I shared that I hoped to finish the new album by the end of this year. But the truth is, I hit a brick wall. I started doubting whether I could raise the funds required to start recording in September, and whether I could complete the work that still needed doing on the writing side. I let myself get sidetracked with home maintenance projects. Can anyone relate to that? They needed doing, sure—but they shouldn’t have taken me completely off the music path.
So at this point, finishing the album this year isn’t realistic. But here’s the good news: I just wrote a brand-new song that I’m really excited about. It’s going to be epic.—so perhaps I just needed to step away for a bit and come back fresh. I’m currently away for a week with my family but I have been prepping what needs to be attended to when I get back so I can hit the ground running.
Thanks for sticking with me through the ups and downs. It is greatly appreciated! And I can assure you, things are going to start getting busy this fall!
