George T. Montebruno
When I first approached George about singing on Let Me Be, I was suffering from writer's block with the lyrics. I had one verse written and an idea for the melody line but, having a lot of respect for his capabilities as a writer with his band 2 Days & Counting, I asked him to throw some ideas at the wall to see what stuck. The opening verse was George just using random words with which to experiment on ideas for a melody line. Though never intended to be 'a keeper', it just kept growing on us and we ended up using it, as written. We then tag-teamed on the balance of the lyrics. George also came up with the idea for the backing vocal part as an 'off the cuff' idea which I loved.
