🎸 Diary Entry #1: "Here I Go Again!"

In the words of David Coverdale, “Here I go again!”

Plans are now being actively made to proceed with the follow-up to Bridge Across the Years.
On my list of “things I would have done differently if I could do the first album all over again”, one of the items would be: Keep a better record of the process.

By launching this blog, it will serve as a diary for me personally and by making it publicly accessible, it will hopefully provide some insights for those of you who like to learn the goings on behind the scenes.

It all starts with a plan
There are three key areas I need to create detailed plans for:

  1. Production. This includes everything from writing songs to booking studio time and creating album artwork.
  2. Finance. Creating a budget for the album. This includes determining the costs associated with recording (studio costs, musician fees, equipment rentals) and how to cover them. Also, for the costs for video production, publicity, CD manufacturing.
  3. Marketing. It doesn’t matter how good an album is. If people don’t know it exists, they are highly unlikely to buy it. 😊

What aspects of album production are you most curious about?
